The Rev. Dr. Meredith H. Crigler was born into a Navy family who lived in Rhode Island, Central California, Hawaii, and College Station. Her grandparents hail from Washington State, New Orleans, New York, and Three Rivers, Texas.
She graduated cum laude with majors in Neuroscience and Religious Studies from Claremont McKenna College in Southern California, has an MDiv with honors from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, and received her doctorate in preaching through Bexeley-Seabury in 2024. She was ordained in the Diocese of Texas in 2010 and has served as Curate/Associate at St. Mary’s in Cypress and as the Rector of Grace in Galveston. She became the Rector of Trinity, Baytown, in 2018 and offers spiritual direction through the church's Well at Trinity: Center for Healing & Wholeness. Meredith currently serves as the co-chair of the Diocesan Committee for Global Partnerships in Mission, as faculty of Iona School for Ministry, on the board of Global Episcopal Mission Network, as a Steward with Backstory Preaching, and has facilitated, presented, or directed at numerous events, summer camps, retreats, and pilgrimages. She has traveled extensively across the United States and twenty-four countries/territories and is the co-author of the Preacher’s Planner. She is passionate about mission, formation, sabbath, preaching, generosity, and embracing discernment.
She is married to Tim Crigler, a Deputy Constable in Harris County in a master's program for clinical mental health counseling. Together, they enjoy traveling, camping, exploring God’s creation, cooking, building projects and design, and spending time with their numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. From time to time, you may also see their dog Thurgood in the office and cat Pangur online.
